Is this plant an Araucaria columnaris or an Araucaria heterophylla? http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Araucaria_heterophylla_A.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Araucaria_heterophylla_B.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Araucaria_heterophylla_C.jpg Thanks in advance.
Is this one a real Araucaria heterophylla? I took the photo during a vacation in Sicily. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Araucaria_heterophylla_Sicily.jpg
Hi, I am not familiar with A. columnaris, but have grown A. heterophylla and it is common around here. I'm with Michael, the first three photos do not look like A.heterophylla, but the last one does. Ciao BrianO
this is Araucaria columnaris without a doubt ,the habit of a columnaris is more compact than norfolk island pines
I'm with Graeme on this one. A. heterophylla would be wider spreading than the tree in the photo. Also, I understand that A. columnaris also develops a leaning habit with age. Nobody knows why exactly.
www.conifers.org is a good site re conifers. Took a look there; have to agree it is A. columnaris. Thank you for posting the images - is an interesting plant. Do you want to correspond with Wikipedia?
