I'm new to this site so forgive me if my topic is redundant.

Several years ago I had a fruit that, with your eyes closed, you couldn't tell if you were eating an apple or a pear. It had the outside look of a pear skin but was the shape of an apple. The person said it came from her pear-apple tree. I've looked everywhere on line but can only find "Asian pear/apple" that is actually a pear. The tree was cultivated in Northern Maryland near Pennsylvania.

Can anyone help me find this tree? I'd love to grow one and give another one as a gift. Thank you in advance!
