I'd like to know the name of this shrub. It has very tiny white flowers, 4 petals, and yellow-green center. I tried to take a closeup of a clipping, it's kind of fuzzy, but hopefully you can make it out. thanks.
I google-imaged euonymus and came up with this one, which looks almost exactly like it, but it has 5 petals instead of 4. maybe this one's defective :). Euonymus americanus L., strawberry bush, brook euonymus [Celastraceae, staff tree family]
In these multiple shots of the flowers there are always (on the first two pages, anyway) fewer of them on shorter stalks, but maybe this varies, with there being different subspecies, races or merely individuals within the same population with different flowering behavior. http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=euonymus+americanus&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi
