How and when can I root a cuting off a old Oak tree. The oak is a Southern Red Oak (Quercus falcata). I would love to have a clone of this very old oak to save its great genetics.

Oaks don't root from cuttings. You would need to graft a shoot onto a seedling rootstock of another red oak.
