more zygopelatum blooms?

    my zygopelatum has sent up 2 flowering stipes this year, one of whcih has just finished it's display.. i know i can cut back phaelenopsis to encourage more flowers.. can i do the same with my zygo?

    I don't believe Zygos have the dormant buds on the flower stalk that Phals do so my answer is probably 'no'. Zygos are all lot easier to flower then Phals in my opinion though, with a spike for every new growth if you give them the correct trigger temperatures. I can get two flowering seasons each year.

    thanks.. am having a tough time getting my phal to bloom this year, so i'm not too sure i'll be able to get 2 flowering seasons out of my zygos.. i'll certainly give it a go tho! Cheers
