I recently repotted a ponytail palm that has three bulbs, 4-5 inches across and I accidentally broke off one of the stems near the top of the bulb. My questions are 1)can I re-root the stem? and 2) can I expect regrowth from the bulb where the stem broke off? I live in a hot dry area and the plant is outdoors. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Leave it alone, if it's going to do anything, or can do anything, it'll do it by itself.
