I ran into this tree at the 4 Seasons resort on the island of Nevis in the West Indies. Can any one help identify it. The locals called it a cotton wood because at times of the year it flowers and spreads its seeds like cotton all over the property..

A species of Ceiba or Bombax (closely related to each other).

Try it with mushroom sauce, or cream sauce ;-)

Just collect some of the seeds out of the cotton, and sow them.

Not liable to survive the winters where you are, if your intent is to grow it outdoors.
