I picked up the first plant at a local store labeled only as a tropical plant. Some sort of grass plant with composite leaves. The other is possibly some sort of hoya plant. Any ideas?

First plant could be a bamboo palm. I have something looking just like that and someone on another forum told me it could be in its juvenile stage. Have no idea about the second.

I guess the second to be a peperomia of some kind, but there are thousands of them.

Definitely a palm, and suspect it's a group of seedlings planted in the one pot, a common practice in the nursery industry. Too young to identify at this stage of growth.
