I started several tomato varieties from seed with the intention of container gardening.
They have been inside pretty much all of the time because the weather has been so awful.

Today I put the on the nice warm and sunny porch (along with several other plants including many herb seedlings) and lo and behold, the leaves of the tomato plants are pale, transparent and limp!!!!

    Help!

    Have I killed my plants???

    Can they be saved?

    Thanks in advance,
    jenn

Move them from direct sunlight, transition should have been done little by little. Also check if the soil has dried out. I think they can be saved.

    thanks!

I now realize that I should have only put them in the sun for a couple of hours and not all afternoon!

They looked so distressed -- most of the leaves are white or transparent and leaves are drooping and sickly looking . . .

should I just buy some plants for back up?

If the stem is still intact there is a chance new healthy leaves to emerge from the tip in a few days.

I guess I wait a week before making any determinations :-)
    Thanks for the encouragement!
