using arbutus chips as mulch

    We had a couple of dead Arbutus trees chopped down 2 years ago and had them chipped up.The pile has been sitting in a corner of our yard since then and I am wondering if these chips could be used safely in my flower beds as mulch?

    The only reason I would hesitate would be in the case that you were attempting to preserve other Arbutus in the immediate vicinity. Otherwise, it's great stuff, especially when utilized in a mix with a tub ground mulch and compost.
