Transplanting

  1. Is now, December 30 to 40 degrees F a time to transplant. If not, when might be the best time to.

    Now should be fine, but not (IMHO) the best. I would try to transplant closer to but still before bud break in the spring as I don't like to leave the damaged roots in freshly disturbed soil so long before they have a chance to begin to repair and then quickly build themselves up. Even though the grapes will not be doing much till spring, in our climate lots of other opportunistic flora and fauna is still somewhat active.
