We have a very large magnolia, about 25 - 30 ft wide and about the same height that is loosing it's luster. A few large branches have been lost over the last few years due to storms. Any suggestions on helping it along? We estimate the tree to be at least 75 years old, it is planted beside a large evergreen (cedar?). Photo attached. 2004-04-01 047.JPG

Saucer magnolia. Wonderful specimen. Try mulching ground beneath with wood chips or other protective material, that will also decompose and improve soil.
