3 months ago we planted an 8ft tall Little Gem magolia tree.
It did well until 2 weeks ago when the weather turned to 95F.
    We are in Houston area.
We watered well upon planting, and when it became hot watered daily.

The tree is losing leaves at a rapid rate and is looking more sparse everyday.
It bloomed really well in its second month, but the new blooms have brown on the white flower, and fall off after a day.

I did not see any bugs on the tree. The soil is very moist, and the tree has always been mulched.
I have also watered 3 times with Scotts liquid fertilizer.

Please advise as to what might me wrong? I would hate to lose the tree.

    Thanks

Might be too wet and/or burned with the fertilizer.

    Will it recover?
I have pulled the mulch away from the trunk about 1 ft diameter to allow it to dry out.
We have had 3 days of rain, but clear for the next week.
How will I know when to water it again?
Please advise if there is anything I should do?
Do I need to add a nitrogen pellet fertilizer to the soil?
    Thanks
