I live in MB and want to know if the Azalea will survive our winters and what soil and sun conditions is best for this type of plant. I am a beginner garden and I learn by trial and error.

    Thanks Gloria

    Hello Gloria,

Northern lights azalea is an extremely hardy azalea, tolerant of temperatures as cold as -42 degrees Celcius. The northern light azalea is best grown in a well drained soil, rich in organic matter with a pH between 4.0 and 5.5. Choose a location that receives full sun to partial shade.

(Off-topic, but I'd just like to add a welcome to Gloria - I grew up near Libau. I'll be out that way in mid-June giving a presentation to the Friends of the Beausejour Daylily Gardens)
