Looking for ID on these two they don't seem to match any club footed varities I have looked up. These are young specimans found after a period of rain near the base of an old spruce tree in New Hampshire on October 8th. Gills are decurrent they turned light brown quickly after handeling and harvesting. Spore print is white. Odor is mild and if anything maybe a fruit like smell.
Leucopaxillus does look close but these are more than just swollen at the base and the gills run down the stem much more so than comparsions of the leucopaxillus that I can find
The gills of Leucopaxillus tend to easily flake off from the underside of the cap with a gentle rub of the thumb. Not sure you still have fresh specimens - just a note for next time.
