What is this thorny bush?

    I don't have a picture but I'll try and describe it the best I can. I live in Zone 6b. This tree like bush stands about 10' high. The trunk has very few widly spaced thorns. The other branches have hair like thorns, completly covered with the little suckers. Leaves are dark green and velvety.
    leaves:
    Blade Shape- Ovate, Structure- Petiolate, Grouping- simple, Veins- Pinnate, and Margins- Entire.
    Any help would be appreciated.
