Attached are photos of what I assume to be two different coral fungi. One is white in color and was growing out of a decomposing log. The second is beige in color and was growing out of leaf litter. Both were found in W. Quebec. Help with ID would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I agree - first is a Hericium, second is very likely Ramaria (Seems more like Ramaria than Clavaria, Clavicorona re habitat and appearance). The Hericium is lovely - I'm jealous of your sighting! -frog
Thank you to all for the help with genus level ID. I agree that the Hericium is lovely. Infact, two very similar specimens were photographed one week apart in different locations. As an aside, I did some research on Hericium and discovered that they are edible and very good, tasting like lobster! Had I known that at the time I might have been tempted to try a sample. Thanks again for the help.
