I have some amorphophallus rivieri konjac bulbs. The older ones (5-6 yrs) are now producing two stems each year. Is this a sign that i should be dividing the bulbs? If so, how and when should i do the separation? I live in illinois and have just finished the flowering phase of the bulbs' life. Should you want photos, let me know.

The kind owner of the ExoticRainForest.com website emailed me this response:

"It is likely the tuber is about to divide itself. You can divide it yourself provided you cut it directly down the very center (top to bottom) but it is best to allow nature to do the work for you."

Thank you to Steve for his answer to my inquiry. And good luck to any of you who have this fantastic plant to grow and appreciate.
