    Hello,

I saw that UBC has a blue flower lover, Daniel Tarrant, and I was wondering if he, or someone, could help me. We saw this shrub in San Francisco. It's about 6 feet, with an open, multitrunk habit, and has you can see, beautiful blue flowers and dark green, shiny needle leaves.

    Many thanks,
    Elisabeth Watson

  2. Could your beautiful shrub be Psoralea pinnata? Check out some of the pictures available on the web to compare.

This definitely is Psoralea pinnata commonly called 'Fountain Bush' native to the the mountain fynbos of the South African cape region. It occurs on forest margins and in river beds.
It has become a garden escapee in Tasmania occuring in mixed disturbed bushland or where old homestaeds used to be.
