I have a Nashi tree (Japanese apple pear) and a 5 variety apple tree. The nashi I've had planted for 2 seasons, and the apple was planted just last summer. I'm wondering whether I should prune them, and if so, when and by how much. they only have a handful of small branches each.

    Thanks!

likely they dont need any pruning. can you post a picture? they may benefit from a bit of structural pruning at this stage in their life.
