Pruning Apple Tree

    Please let me know whether the Liberty Apple Tree is a Spur-bearing
    or a Tip-bearing variety.
    The same question regarding a Jona-free Apple Tree.

    Treat them as tip-bearing, although they will form some fruit on spurs too. If a nursery is selling a spur-bearing variety, it should be stated (i.e. a spur-bearing McIntosh would be called Spur Mac or Macspur.)
