What is this?

    Hi,I'll try again to attatch the photo.Does anyone know what this is?Several were found inside my girlfriends house in North Wales.....thanks.

    Dried Annona squamosa fruit.

    My guess would be a cone from a conifer. Something to provide a frame of reference for size would be helpful.

    Hi Junglekeeper,
    Thank you for trying to help.I don't think it is a cone from a conifer as it is hollow and nuts or nut-like items were also found.It measures one and a half inches length and breadth,roughly 4.5 cm

    Presumably the source of them is growing nearby, unless it has been cut down.

    Until now I was mis-reading the original statement as saying the fruits were found outside the house.
