Walk on the Beach

    Whilst walking on the beach at Pigeon Lake Alberta we found the only flower left: it was covered with Hover Flies! What is it called? It doesn't look like a Verbena.....

    Aster (Daisy) family plant, of which there are thousands of species. References covering the wild plants of your region probably have it.

    Please can someone suggest a nice name for this solitary bloom found in October by a northern Alberta Lake?
