Identification: Fir in need of ID!

    So I had trouble identifying another specimen I picked for a plant collection. I tried several websites and can't seem to find a fir with the distinctive pointy ends. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the tree.

    That's because it's not a fir ;-) . . . . look up Coast Redwood Sequoia sempervirens.
