shrub ID, small 4-petal white flowers, light green leaves

    I'd like to know the name of this shrub. It has very tiny white flowers, 4 petals, and yellow-green center. I tried to take a closeup of a clipping, it's kind of fuzzy, but hopefully you can make it out. thanks.

    Reminds me of a Euonymus, but I'm afraid I don't know the species (or cultivar).

    I google-imaged euonymus and came up with this one, which looks almost exactly like it, but it has 5 petals instead of 4. maybe this one's defective :).

    Euonymus americanus L., strawberry bush, brook euonymus [Celastraceae, staff tree family]

    That is what I thought it might be. Wait until you see it fruit. It is striking.

    Euonymus europaeus (Spindle) usually has four petals.
