We dug up this dogwood 20 years ago from the forrest around Mt. Adams, and it has done very well in our backyard until this spring. Not long after blooming the leaves on the west side of the tree began to dry out and curl. Within one week the whole tree has done the same thing. The leaves are now starting to turn yellow on the curled edges. There does not appear to be any insect damage or spotting on the leaves. There is a yellow lichen type growth on some of the branches and the trunk. There is also one place where the bark has split in small 1 inch long splits.
We have had an unusually wet spring.
If anyone can help us we are prepared to do whatever we can to save this tree. Thanks.
