Baobab in Panama?

    Well, probably not a Baobab, my guess is a "Canoe Tree" Cavanillesia platanifolia? -but I'm not at all sure... The picture is from along the Panama Canal last year in October.

    More likely it's Ceiba pentandra or a close relative. That bottling of the trunk is a signature look for more mature specimens.
