Close to the cool air at the entrance of the Cliff Walk in Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, this 'Yae-beni-shidare' still has lots of flowers, pale as they are approaching the end of bloom on May 2, 2013.

These trees on Ross are 'Shogetsu'. Note the pink buds, large rather flat open flowers and very fringed petal edges, and the very long stems. They don't even look sick yet - no wonder you thought they were 'Shirotae'.

This splendid cherry tree is almost in full bloom in a private back yard which is located on a nameless street between Ross Road and East 29th Street (4 houses down from Mountain Highway), but I was wondering if this is a Whitcomb tree?
