I transplanted a Red Heart Plum tree purchased from a local nursery and it seems very happy - lots of new dark green growth, except there is some winey coloured "sap" oozing from the trunk in one spot about halfway up the main trunk. There are also a few places where some crystal-like "stuff" is hanging from the smaller branches.

Does anyone know what the heck this is?? and if there is anything I can do for it?

    thanks

  2. More than one thing can cause this, but start by doing a web search for "bacterial canker".
