    It is everywhere, and grows in any kind of soil, popping its naughty head even through a heap of builder's red sand! It is determined to survive! (I kinda admire that) What is it???

    Nut sedge nutgrass or Mullumbimbee couch. It's an absolute mongrel.
    Look for a selective herbicide called "Sempra" its a selective herbicide purely for sedges. Next option is move house
