What ginger?

    I have several stems of ginger in among other plants. I'd been waiting for blossoms to appear at the tops of the stems, but these flower at the stem base! Any idea what this plant is called?

    Thanks, Chris. I was getting nowhere searching on ginger, zingiber, and hedychium!

    Hi Debby,
    Did you look at Zingiber mioga? It is hardy here in Vancouver and it appeared in my garden by catching a ride with some other plant.

    Yes, that must be it. Thanks, guys.

    I searched using, among other things, Zingiberaceae I think, not Zingiber.

    Nice to KNOW and no longer just WONDER.
