    Hi,

I had a new sod lawn installed last March. Wonderful. Everthing looked great for about 2 months. Then these strange bald spots surrounded by rich, dark, fast growth started appearing. I have followed the landscaper's instructions re watering and not fertilizing right away. I waited until the fall to give a light dose of lawn food. There is a male dog on the property but nothing else.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this and how to remedy the situation?Any advise would be welcome. The sod came from Andersons. I am in Langford ( a suburb of Victoria).

    Thank you
    Megan

It does, kind of, look like urine spots but why are they only in the new section of lawn?
When the dog piddles, he goes on the old lawn as well as the new and there is no damage to the old lawn.
    Any other suggestions?

The link provided suggests certain grasses are much more sensitive to urine than others.
