But such an interesting plant. That it's in the passion flower family was the first surprise. And it has two flower shapes. It seems that white flower is really part of the same plant, and it's not just that it's old and has lost its colour.

Do not the white flowers belong to a different plant growing together with the Turnera? I am not an expert, so I will quote Wikipedia: " In heterostylous species . . . On each individual plant all flowers share the same morph"

White flower in the centre of the plant is not Turnera sp.
The petals are a very different shape.
    Leaves also look different.

Thanks, Sundrop and Silver surfer. I hadn't clicked through to the heterostyly link: " The flower morphs differ in the lengths of the pistil and stamens ...", not in the petals.

so sorry for not checking my mail right away. these are 2 different plants. the yellow is i think the turnera as identified. the white flower is also very easy to grow here in the philippines as i could see it surviving even in low maintenance areas.

The white looks like a Wrightia sp. - very popular garden shrubs in South-east Asia.
