reposting again the same plant! ID needed

    someone told me it is Daucus carottae! Is this the same as carrot that we eat???? I am suspicious about this...

    The domestic one, Daucus carota subsp. sativus, has been selectively bred from it. It is edible, just don't confuse it with poison hemlock.

    Yep, Wild Carrot, as opposed to the domesticated version. Like comparing a wolf and a dog.

    "Don't confuse it with poison hemlock" Which has red/burgundy splotches up and down the stem.

    Not sure that matters, as Wild Carrot, while theoretically edible, isn't worth eating.
