    Hi,
I have some rhodos and azaleas in pots for the 3rd year and really need to put them in the ground. Does anyone know how big they will be? I need to know how far apart to plant them. Or perhaps just a good rule of thumb for how far apart to plant them. : ) The tags just have the names and planting directions.

Rhodos: President Lincoln, Vulcan's Flame, Cheer, Ramapo

Azaleas: Hino Crimson, Golden Flame, Gump Red, Trayling Orange.

Of the Rhodos I think the Ramapo will be small maybe 4ft diam. and low and one of the azaleas looks like it may be tall. Some at my mum's house are 7 ft or so. Really old.

Thank you very much. I am on the Sunshine Coast - zone 7-8

    Pam

    'President Lincoln' - 2m
    'Vulcan's Flame' - 2m
    'Cheer' - 1.5m
    'Ramapo' - 0.5m
    'Hino Crimson' - 2m
'Golden Flame' - ? no reference found
'Gump Red' - ? no reference found, perhaps 'Gumpo', a Satsuki hybrid
Trayling Orange - may be a locally, Ed J. Trayling produced, unnamed hybrid, possibly to 2m or more.
    Hope this help.

hi, thank you so much - it's a great help!

  4. Pam, you know you can continue to keep these plants in containers if you like. Minature Fruit trees have done quite well for up to 75 years. You will need to root prune them. If you chose to keep them in containers let me know and I will send you some information on root pruning. My e-mail chetsut@gmail.com
