What is this on our cherry tree?

    Can anyone identify what this is and what should we do? This tree is full of cherries right now.

    Another simpler option, get a long stick, and twist it round and round in the 'tent' to remove the caterpillars' refuge. Then the local birds will likely finish off the caterpillars quite quickly as they have no more protection to hide in.

    Thanks Michael F ..that would be the easiest way. The birds are having a feast on the cherries.
