My hibiscus is about 5 ft tall and has been in the ground for approximately 3 years. During the summer it bloomed very little but now that fall has come, it is blooming a lot more. How can I encourage it to bloom this well in July and August? The tag says it blooms from July to Oct. My other hibiscus (Hamabo) was planted at the same time and although it produces some blooms in the summer, it has stunted growth and is only 15" tall. How can I encourage it to grow taller? Any suggestions? Thank you

These seem to require fairly high levels of moisture and fertility. If the leaves are sparse and yellowish, your shrubs need more care. Try mulching with composted manure, testing soil for nutrient deficiency, watering more freely.
