My friend told me that she saw this fruit tree in Kazakhstan and that it is a Quince. So perfectly round and hairy, is it really Quince?

Thank you. It looks so different from Cydonia oblonga at UBC garden! I was thinking about the tree at UBC, not so hairy and not so perfectly round!?!

Here's the Cydonia oblonga in the UBCBG North Garden today, round and furry. What happens - do they lose the fur as they ripen?

Nadia has convinced me that the Cydonia oblonga at UBCBG are not, in fact, perfectly round. I have no idea if they have elongated since my last visit, or if I just saw them from a single vantage point from which they all looked round.
