Portugal laurel. Frequently planted ornamental that is actually a nuisance species in this region, coming up from seed in wooded public parks and other green spaces in and near heavily inhabited districts - along with English laurel, Irish ivy, common hawthorn, spurge laurel, European mountain ash, stranvaesia, big-leaf cotoneaster etc.
