My boss is desperate to find out what type of tree this is. Please help me to be employee of the month!!
Thank you so much! The leaves are very thin and silky and a very light green - would that sound right?
Is the branch has long nasty thorn?. if it is then definitely 'black locust'. Watch out for those root sprouting sucker. My neighbor planted one 10+ yrs ago right next to the fence and its roots are running all over my yard and sprout everywhere, real headache. Some roots have run and sprout over 30ft from the mother tree.
As it is yellowish it might be R. pseudoacacia 'Frisia' although this is usually quite conspicuously yellow here. Cultivar has a pleasant tall habit, specimen shown (whichever particular kind it is) looks like it has been deformed by topping.
