I have read that stinging nettles have a natural antihistamine effect. Tisanes and tinctures are available through Self-Heal Herbs in Victoria, (I discovered yesterday), where my currently very stuffed -up daughter lives among the abundant blossoms and pollen. She is a lover of stinging nettles as a food , from her childhood in the Stikine valley, but doesn't know where to get them in Victoria area. I have only discovered one place on the mainland, near Crescent Beach, and am not sure it hasn't been over-picked by now. I am wondering whether and where to get some nettles for her to plant in her new garden. Is this even a good idea? Can it take over? It doesn't seeem invasive, but rather reclusive.
