Hi, I came across several of these at the north tip of Vancouver Island and was wondering if they could be Boletus edulis? The cap of the mushroom is about 3" in diameter (9.42 inches in circumference) and stipe about 8 inches long. The stipe is 4 inches wide at the base tapering to 3 inches under the cap. The underside of the cap looks like foam instead of gills and is a greenish colour. I found 4 of these large mushrooms growing in a forest of hemlock, spruce and fir along with a large variety of other mushrooms. I'm new to mushroom picking and am wondering if these are edible? Thanks a bunch for your help! Fenton
