Hi. My name is Max and I'm a student at SJS. For science we had to find a fungus and bring it in. Well, in my front yard today, I was looking for a fungus. I was flipping dead leaves and found this. I've seen these before but I have never known what they actually are. Please tell me what fungus or other type of growth this is. And why is it that they mostly grow on dead leaves? What do they eat?

    Thanks,
    Max

Hy Max. There is a small hole in the middle of your leaf thing.

    Hi Max,
I can't see the details in the photo: It looks sort of like a shiny amber gelatinous blob - is that right?
Do you know what kind of trees they were?
    thanks
