I need help identifying a red, bumpy berry. I know next to nothing about anything botanical! My neighbor has a plant that produces the red bumpy berries as pictured below. She gave my son a handful of them to eat, but said she had no idea what kind of berry it was. She said her and other neighborhood kids had been eating them for years and "they haven't killed anybody yet." I'm sure they are harmless, and may be a very common berry, but I don't know and I want to know before my son eats any of more of them. Here are the pictures.

It's an Elaeagnus berry of some sort, perhaps autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellata), I think. Edible berries, but not choice; good bird forage.
