Our kale is all flowering and bolting.

We have chosen one of each to go to seed.

My question is: what is the way to cut back the rest of the kale so that it will start sending out more leafs once the flowering time has passed?

Do we cut it right down or only to a certain level?

    Thanks!!

Customarily elongated, flowering specimens are discarded, until re-planting season comes around again later in the year.

You can pretty much cut it back where you like, somewhere below the flower stalk, and it usually resprouts again. I've had a few that produced for 3-4 years like this. Biggest issue with perennializing a brassica like this seems to be increasing odds of getting club root as time goes on, which can affect the whole garden...

    Hi Ron,
What do you mean by "elongated"?
    Thanks.
