Walmart had a euonymus for sale that is trimmed to be tree like (ie with a trunk and then a bushy top). It was about 6 feet tall. I think it was euonymus fortunei. Does anyone know how tall this would grow? Would its trunk get fuller....like a tree? Where should it be planted (what direction) I understand it is hardy to zone 5 and above....I also read, though, that euonymus can be invasive.........and that it is poisonous! Any advice from anyone re this??

    Thanks for info and help!!

Part above trunk will assume same appearance as if growing right on the ground unless pruned regularly. Trunk will thicken with age. Same plant as shrub form, just pruned and trained to have lollipop shape. Head might also have been grafted on top of trunk, although suspect probably not with this type of shrub. Trunk may produce sprouts which will have to be pruned off to maintain single clear stem.
