Hello, just dropping in from the "tree" area. I know little about houseplants.

Our paper and staples supply company just sent this to the boss lady at work.

Any idea what it is? She's mostly concerned about where to stick it, by a window, in the shade, keep it damp, let it dry out, that type of thing. Once we know what it is I can Google that easy enough.

    Thanks in advance.

Oh, I am used to using identification tools on the web to identify common trees. Is there one for houseplants worth looking at?

I copied your photo and brightened it in PhotoShop to see any details. It appears to be a hybridized Philodendron, possibly one related to Philodendron erubescens but I can't be certain. Visit this site and see if you can find one that is similar:

The chances are all you will find is a common name but for most growers that is more than adequate.

Thank you very much for all the work.

I'll pass it on to her so she can take care of it.
