Crocosmia 'Lucifer' care after flowering

    Leave them, cut them down, dig them up, burn them, A-bomb them, – whatever you do, it won't make any difference. They'll be back next year. They're impossible to get rid of.

    Couldn't agree more!

    Seriously, all you need to do is to tidy it up, remove the spent flower stocks and leave them alone (assuming that you are in USDA zone 7 or warmer) to over winter outside. What you do with the leaves is up to you. Some would say that the dead leaves add
    "architectural" interest in the winter. In my experience, they fall over and becomes quite a mess after the very first snow fall.

    One thing Michael forgot to mention is that they do have one weakness - they do not like excessive moisture, especially in the winter.
