What is this vine? It is growing on the west side of my house/window/fence/ground - quite invasive. The leaves are approx. 2 - 3 inches and the "fruit" is about 3/4". Its rather spindly, and is in bright light/partial shade.

Look up Hedera helix. Extremely invasive and banned in many areas. But florists still sell it as a funeral plant almost daily! That's a shame since if it gets loose it is very difficult to eradicate. Birds carry the seeds. It will tolerate almost any kind of weather including severe freeze. There are several threads on the species on this board.

No, this is certainly a curcubit (I meant cucurbit, sorry.) Look at the flowers and fruit.

Since the flowers are yellow instead of white, and because of the leaves and the way the fruit looks like it might be kind of bristly, I'll bet it is one of those squirting cucumbers -- Ecballium something or other. Around here, those can be very pesky, but they have their charm, too.

After looking up the suggestions, it looks VERY much to be Melothira pendula - aka creeping cucumber/Guadeloupe cucumber. Thanks everyone!
