wondering what this is

Hello,
I Have these bushes on the side of my house and am wondering what they are. The berries are sweet and tangy and am wondering if they're edible or not.

Looks like Myrtus communis. Common name Myrtle
It is never a good idea to eat any berry either in the garden or the wild until you know what it is and if it is safe or lethal!

Some sites say it is not poisonous others that it causes nausea and vomiting.

 

Doesn't look quite right for Myrtus communis to me - maybe a species of Syzygium? (same family)
